At the start of this summer thousands of trees were planted by children at summer camps across Canada. For the seventh year, The ChariTree Foundation’s initiative to offer tree planting for kids program was a Tremendous success. If children are going to make a lifelong commitment to protect the environment for themselves and future generations, they first need time to explore the wonders of nature. One of the best ways to teach environmental education is to give kids a tree of their own to plant. It’s about learning to care for something, self-sufficiency, reforestation, trees as future food sources and so much more.
Photos and reports are coming in from participating camps. If you haven’t already, please complete your camp’s tree reporting form here: https://www.charitree-foundation.org/camp-tree-planting-instructions-and-activities/
Special thanks to all the campers, camp staff, provincial reps, Catherine Ross and The Canadian Camping Association and ChariTree’s generous donors ~ we couldn’t have done it without you all. xo
